The sixth annual Latham-Steinson Cup was an unforgettable event, marked by emotion, sportsmanship, and community spirit. The evening began with a powerful round of applause, honouring Dean and Sam, whose memories continue to inspire. Despite the challenging heat, the teams demonstrated remarkable determination, delivering a spectacular display of skill and heart.
Congratulations to Team Stephanie, who secured an impressive 7-2 victory! Special recognition goes to Jacob Seymour, named Player of the Match for his stellar defensive play that proved critical to his team’s success.
Match Overview
The match kicked off with Team Mark taking an early lead through goals from Nubi Oluwamayowa and Alfie Belcher. However, their offensive push created openings, which Team Stephanie exploited. Kobe Shaw dominated the field, netting a stunning four goals, while Arun Sanghera added two more, and Moshood Abolarin sealed the win with a final goal.
Key performances came not only from the scorers, but from Jacob Seymour, whose defensive leadership earned him the top honours. Adam Leponis controlled the right flank, while Iwan Noble kept Team Mark in the game with crucial saves.
Honouring Dean and Sam
The day concluded with a touching tribute to Dean and Sam, as the Latham family presented the trophy to Team Stephanie. Their memory was celebrated throughout the evening, with the post-match gathering at The Bowling Green raising over £5,000 for the PHMG Foundation.
The Latham-Steinson Cup continues to grow each year, uniting the PHMG family in support of a great cause. We can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!
